R730 Fan
This was a project completed out of necessity. After meeting the limitations of my lower-end first server, it was time to upgrade to a "real" server. Before purchasing this, I already thought out where I would store it in our tiny apartment and how I would make it quiet with "some Noctua fans some 3D printing." Little did I know what a challenge this project would be... thank you proprietary Dell connectors. After many iterations of the design, fixing structural design flaws, and producing semi-reliable fan connectors on a low-end 3D printer, I finally finished a design that I am pretty proud of. This design fits the Noctua fans like a glove and is near perfect form, fit, and function replacement of the stock Dell fans. My server runs a little hotter, but my apartment doesn't sound like a wind turbine.
