Why This Domain?

Growing up my friends and I hosted many Local Area Network(LAN) parties together. A couple of my friends were heavily interested in producing electronic music, specifically Drum N Bass(DNB). Eventually, we came up with a great idea to set up Public Address(PA) equipment at our LAN parties and blast DNB music all night long. After this next-level revelation, we started to go by the DNB*LAN crew.

To learn public networking and Linux, I bought the domain dnb-lan.com and host a LAN party-centric website. This website was intended to provide the networking solution for every LAN party, host local services at the LAN party, and host public services between LAN parties.

  • Automated LAN Party Record
  • Wireless and Wired networking
  • FTP Server
  • Automated statistics of each game(packet sniffing)
  • Local DNB over IP stream
I didn't complete as much of the server as I would have liked, but the core capabilities worked great while I owned the server.

Recently purchased the domain again for a long duration, and without too much forethought, I have decided to host my personal website. Why own a domain and not host a website... right? Besides, there is now too much nostalgia wrapped up in DNB*LAN that I will probably perpetually keep this domain.

Who am I?

I am an Electrical Engineer working in California... that's about it.
